MUN Earns Best Delegation Award at UCSB MUN Conference

Recently, students from St. Mary’s attended the USCB MUN Conference. Several team members were awarded Outstanding and Commendation awards. The St. Mary’s MUN team was also recognized and awarded as a small school Best Delegation Award. In addition, students were accompanied by their parents for the weekend and enjoyed a tour of the college campus and a night of bowling and pizza. This is the sixth year that the school has been invited to this conference. Falcons gave speeches and collaborated with students from schools from all over the west coast. Students worked together in coming up with solutions to several important current global issues. Jordan Smith (Grade 7) and Nota Dzwonkowski (Grade 7) participated in a historic simulation of the War of the Roses and debated who was the rightful heir to the throne. Sydney Pickford (Grade 7), served as a delegate to the International Olympic Committee planning the 2024 Olympics, and shared she “really liked being at a conference as it allowed her to dig deep into the investigative process.”
