Alison Calentino '10graduated from Santa Margarita Catholic High School in 2014 and from The University of Chicago in 2018, where she double-majored in Comparative Human Development and Psychology. She has been working as a research coordinator in the Families, Affective Neuroscience and Mood Disorders Lab at the University of Illinois at Chicago. She manages research studies that investigate the intergenerational transmission of depression between mothers and their children. Alison has also volunteered as a Crisis Counselor with Crisis Text Line, an SMS-based suicide hotline. She recently accepted an offer to begin the Clinical Psychology Ph.D. program at Stony Brook University and will be joining Dr. Dan Klein's Developmental Psychopathology Lab. Her research will focus on the relationship between adversity and mental health outcomes across development, and how experiences of depression and anxiety in childhood and adolescence influence functioning in adulthood.
