Alumna to Serve as 2020 Legacy Award Judge

This year Lauren Cullen '05 will serve as a judge for the 2020 Legacy Leadership Award. Lauren is a recipient of the award and is honored to be able to give back the program. Last year Michelle Pellizzon '03 was the first alumna and Legacy Award Recipient to serve as a judge, and St. Mary's is happy to continue the tradition.

Let's catch up with Lauren

After graduating from St. Mary's, Lauren attended Santa Margarita Catholic High School, where she played on the water polo and swim teams. Lauren studied psychology and studio arts at Loyola Marymount University. Upon graduation, Lauren felt compelled to give back and served as an AmeriCorps volunteer with Chicago's City Year program. She co-taught in various middle school classrooms in a large public school on the south side of Chicago and quickly fell in love with the field of education.

Upon returning to Southern California, Lauren has held various positions including working with a Los Angeles Charter School Network in their corporate office. Lauren is currently working for a private, one-on-one school called the Fusion Academy. As the Director of Outreach, she works to build connections with local schools and professionals in order to provide and sustain a truly individualized and alternative experience for students.
When Lauren is not working, you can find her busy planning her food truck wedding. She is excited to marry the love of her life and celebrate with lots of great food and family this September.
