Support St. Mary's

The foundation of St. Mary’s School is its crystal-clear mission to provide an International Baccalaureate (IB) curriculum that prepares and inspires our students to become courageous, caring, global citizens and enlightened leaders of tomorrow.
Educating a child requires more than talented teachers and an outstanding curriculum. A St. Mary’s education would not be the incredible experience that it is without the investment of gifts and time from our parents. You can make a positive and meaningful difference in your child’s education and in the life of our school community by partnering with us.
We ask for our community’s support of St. Mary’s School in two meaningful ways—-
  • Parent Teacher Fellowship (PTF)
  • Fun and Fundraising Events – Spring Gala and Golf Classic
  • Other Volunteer Opportunities
  • The St. Mary’s Fund – 100% Parent Participation
  • Other Giving Opportunities
Read the Guide on Engagement and Philanthropy to learn more about this partnership between St. Mary’s School and our families.

    St. Mary's 2019 Gala - Galapalooza

Galapalooza had more than 270 parents and supporters gathered together at Hotel Irvine to celebrate our school and students at our annual gala. It was a magical evening filled with color, comradery and fun! We were fortunate enough to have the night culminate with a record breaking fundraise.
We are so pleased and humbled to share that our 2019 Fund-a-Need Outdoor Spaces: Shade, Play and Hang Out raised nearly $300,000. Your children and families will return to school this fall with enhanced outdoor spaces on our campus. Because we well exceeded our goal, we are working closely with our planning committee to finalize plans to create even more shade, play experiences and appropriate social spaces for students.
We are all so blessed and thankful to have such generous families in our community. We would like to recognize Marni Grass and Greg McCollum, Gala co-chairs for passionately championing such an important event for St. Mary's. Your efforts, alongside your remarkable Gala committee made the evening so special and beautiful. We appreciate all the work, love and time that went into creating the most successful Gala in our school's history.
    2019 Gala Highlights
    • Band Sound 404 (featuring St. Mary's alum) opened the cocktail reception with fantastic vocals.
    • Dinner began with a beautiful song by students in the school musical "Wizard of Oz," followed by an outstanding performance by our Middle School dancers.
    • The Gala raised $492,000; $297,400 for Fund-a-Need Outdoor Spaces: Shade, Play and Hang Out!
    • 270 tickets sold! For the first time ever, every teacher and faculty member in attendance were underwritten through donations.
    • Congratulations to the Capalbo family for winning the opportunity drawing: a St. Mary's parking space for the 2019-2020 school year!
If you would like to contribute to the Fund-a-Need, please click here.
Once again, we continue to be inspired and in awe of our community. We appreciate and thank everyone who attended and/or supported the Gala. If you attended and would like to share feedback about your experience, please email

  • Get Involved - Parent Teacher Fellowship

Did you know that all families at St. Mary's are a part of the Parent Teacher Fellowhip (PTF)? The PTF is a volunteer organization that highlights the value placed on community at St. Mary's. From all school events to service projects and athletics, the PTF is the life of our close-knit community. It's our community that supports our vision that prepares and inspires our children of today to become courageous, caring, global citizens and enlightened leaders of tomorrow.

Volunteering at St. Mary's gives our families more opportunities to be a part of the Falcon community. There are many opportunities throughout the year and we encourage all families to get involved. Our school cannot be successful without you! Opportunities on our volunteer page will be posted in August.

Please contact Lindsay Winn at  lindsay, Event and Volunteer Manager, for any questions pertaining to the PTF or volunteering.

  • St. Mary's Fund

You hold one of the keys to unlocking opportunities for students at St. Mary's School.
Together, through our generous gifts to the St. Mary’s Fund, we unlock more opportunities to prepare, empower and inspire each and every student to realize his or her greatest potential and become an exemplary citizen of the world.
Tuition alone does not cover the cost of providing a deeply transformative education for St. Mary’s students. Gifts to the St. Mary’s Fund help unlock opportunities for our students by supporting those things essential to a St. Mary’s education:

    • Small class sizes ensuring more personal attention
    • Outstanding academics and experiential learning programs
    • Recruitment and retention of an exceptionally dedicated and well-trained faculty and staff
    • Financial aid
    • Innovative teaching practices
    • Cutting-edge science and technology
    • Enhanced theatre, music and visual arts opportunities
    • Strong athletics program
    • And most importantly, the opportunity to inspire and empower our students to make a change in the world.

You hold one of the keys that opens doors for our students to not only think, but really know deep down, that they can be astronauts, ambassadors, engineers, thinkers, writers, singers, artists, scientists, athletes, actors and leaders. You hold the key to send a message that nothing can stand in their way and that they WILL make a difference in the world.

  • Ways to Give

There are many ways to speed your gift to support St. Mary’s. If you don’t see an option below that best fits with your family’s needs and tax circumstances, we will be happy to discuss other alternatives with you. As a 501c3 corporation, your gifts to St. Mary’s are tax deductible to the fullest extent allowable by law.

    Cash or Check

The majority of families choose to make their gift to St. Mary’s by check either as a single donation or as payments towards a pledge. Simply make your check payable to St. Mary’s and deliver or mail it to the Advancement Office.

    Credit Card

Make your donation or pay your pledge with a Visa, MasterCard or American Express card online (click here!) or visit the Advancement Office.

Pledges are a popular way for families to demonstrate their commitment to support St. Mary’s early in the campaign, yet delay payment for a later date that works better for their family or maximizes a tax deduction. Pledges can be fulfilled by cash, check, credit card or securities in one installment or monthly installments before a specified pledge payment period. Pledges can be made online. (Click here!)

    Matching Gifts

Many corporations demonstrate their support to St. Mary’s by matching their employees’ donations to our school. Matching gifts can double your contribution to St. Mary’s. Donors are recognized for the total of the combined amount of their gift plus their employer matching gift. Please consult your company’s human resource to inquire about a matching program or the Advancement Office so we can research that information for you.

    Restricted Gifts

These contributions are restricted by the donor for a particular project or program that has been identified by the school as an area of need.

    Gifts of Securities

Gifts of appreciated stock and/or securities represent a two-fold savings opportunity. Donors avoid paying capital gains taxes on the increased values of their stocks. In addition, donors receive a tax deduction for the full market value of the stock on the date of the gift.

    Planned Giving

Planned gifts are made now and distributed in the future. Including St. Mary’s in an estate plan provides for the long-term fiscal health of St. Mary’s and gives donors the opportunity to receive immediate or deferred tax benefits while leaving a legacy. All parents and grandparents are encouraged to consider naming St. Mary’s in their will and making the school aware of their gift.

    Capital Campaign

To realize goals identified in the school’s Strategic Plan, the Board of Trustees will, when needed, initiate a capital campaign in order to meet facilities, program and endowment needs that the school cannot pay for out of tuition funds. A Capital Campaign will support major projects such as new campus construction and renovations to maintain state-of-the-art facilities. Capital campaign gifts are significantly larger than annual fund contributions and therefore are pledges paid over a multi-year period.

    Corporate and Foundation Giving

St. Mary’s strives to attain grants and funding from foundations and corporate giving entities for school needs. Because these grants are quite competitive, it is extremely helpful to have a contact within the funding organization. Please let us know if you or your extended family has contacts with philanthropic agencies.
