“The last few years have been exhilarating as we have brainstormed and researched how we might reimagine our learning environment following the guidance of our Strategic Plan. In creating the Master Plan it was determined that every square foot of the campus, inside & out, should be considered a setting for learning,” said Sharon Taylor. Powerful ideas emerged from teachers, parents, students, alumni parents, and others—about how our learning environment could transform our students’ educational experiences.
We engaged the architectural firm of RGA, cutting-edge leaders in innovative design, to help us achieve one overarching purpose: to stimulate creativity in as many ways as possible so that children have numerous opportunities and ways in which to become passionate learners. We challenged RGA to make optimal use of space—indoors and outdoors--and our financial resources. The architect has met our challenge and exceeded our expectations. The Master Plan facilities’ enhancements are inventive and bold and will transform the quality of every student’s experience on our campus.
The St. Mary's Board of Trustees authorized the completion of the Master Plan in early 2017. The entire project is estimated at $14.5 million and the school immediately initiated the Imagine More Campaign with a silent phase of fundraising for the first phase of the campaign. The Imagine More Campaign is close to securing the funds needed to complete the first phase of the Master Plan.
We are building on an amazing legacy! Even as we celebrate all that we’ve achieved over the years, we remain focused on protecting and growing that legacy for generations to come.
The first phase of the Master Plan will be completed this summer and will include a complete redesign of the Lower and Middle School academic buildings, a new dining Commons and a new safe and secure front entrance.
