Thompson Family Early Education Center

On the ground floor of The Sillers Center is The Thompson Family Early Education Center, a 10,000 sq ft home for our youngest Falcons, from two-year-olds through Kindergarten. Each classroom is filled with natural light and eco-friendly, flexible furniture that encourages curiosity and exploration. Lofts invite climbing and imaginative play, while in-class makerspaces spark creativity, problem-solving and design thinking.
LIU FAMILY PLAYGROUND

The Liu Family Playground, serves as a central hub for our Early Education and Kindergarten families. With secure gate access and large garage doors opening directly from the Kensington, Sean and Conrad Brown Learning Hub, it offers children and parents a safe, welcoming space each day.
Every element has been intentionally designed to support the whole child's development. The centerpiece is the new XU Family Play Structure, set on colorful, resilient surfacing and surrounded by a bike track, shaded seating, and drought-tolerant California landscaping that creates a natural connection to the outdoors.
The play structure promotes strength, balance, coordination and cooperative play, while nearby boulders and log seating offer opportunities for reflection, sensory regulation and small-group interaction. The imaginative play zone-currently highlighted by a ride-in airplane-sparks creativity, role play and storytelling, building both language and social-emotional skills.
Children can experiment in the mud kitchen, cross a playful bridge into an oversized sand pit, and explore water play features that encourage tactile learning, cause-and-effect thinking and cooperative discovery. The outdoor art invites self-expression through painting, sculpting and mixed media, with rotating provocations and collaborative projects that nurture creativity, communication and problem solving.
The bike track, shaded gathering areas and gross motor zone support sports, endurance and large group games that foster teamwork, resilience and self-confidence. Together, these features make the Liu Family Playground more than just a play space - it is a purposeful learning environment where children grow, explore and thrive through joyful, developmentally rich experiences.
KENSINGTON, SEAN AND CONRAD BROWN LEARNING HUB

At the heart of this level is the Kensington, Sean and Conrad Brown Learning Hub, a bright gathering space where students enjoy daily snacks and lunch. Inspired by the Green Family Commons, the Hub features rolling garage doors that open to fresh air, allowing children to move seamlessly between indoor and outdoor experiences.
