Step One: Visit St. Mary’s
We encourage all prospective students and families to join us for an Open House (January 17, Feburary 7 and March 6, 2008) or personal tour to visit St. Mary’s beautiful six acre campus. Through personal tours and our annual Open House events, families can learn more about the programs that St. Mary’s has to offer, see the campus and meet faculty members. Tours can be scheduled by contacting the Admission Office.
Step Two: Complete the Application
A completed application must be on file for every child applying to St. Mary’s. Each application must be accompanied with a copy of the child’s birth certificate, immunization record and the non-refundable $75 application processing fee. All students entering kindergarten thru grade eight must also submit report cards/ progress reports, standardized test scores (where applicable), and a teacher recommendation.
Application Packets are available upon request thru the Admission’s Office.
Step Three: Make Your Appointment for an Assessment/Play Date
For children entering kindergarten through grade four, parents will need to set an appointment for their student’s assessment test through the Admission’s Office. Students who have completed applications on file will be given priority for assessment dates.
Students applying for grades five thru eight are required to take the ISEE test. Registration packets for the ISEE test are included in the Application Packets or parents can register on-line at www.iseetest.org. The ISEE test is available Monday-Friday during regular business hours for an additional fee or during group testing dates, which are January 19, February 9, March 8 and April 26, 2008.
Step Four: Participate in a Shadow Student visit
Parents are encouraged to have their children spend a day with a current St. Mary’s student. Prospective students will have the chance to attend classes and participate in all of the daily activities. To schedule a shadow day contact the Admission’s Office.
Step Five: Decision Letter
Once applications are processed and assessments are completed, applications are reviewed by the Admission’s Committee and a decision is made concerning all student acceptances. A decision letter is then sent to the parents as soon as possible.
