What We Believe
It was the vision of our founding headmaster, Fr. Ernest D. Sillers, to create a Christ-centered academic environment at St. Mary and All Angels School that is holistic in its approach to the teaching of Christianity. St. Mary’s in an inclusive non-denominational setting, allowing students to realize that God’s unconditional love is a daily part of their world – in their homes, at school and in themselves. Our primary goal is to serve our students and their families by being an extension of the faith foundations provided in the home. We aim to provide daily interactions and familiarity with Biblical literature and examine the life and teachings of Jesus, encouraging students to explore their own spirituality in thoughtful and personal ways. We focus on the Bible’s teaching of God’s love over judgment, with no constraints of doctrine, helping students to build up good moral character and, with the help of positive role models, integrate and apply Christian values into daily life.
Our Mission
We are a non-denominational Christian school dedicated to excellence in an atmosphere of cultural respect and global interaction. We promote the life-long practice of learning, leading and serving to prepare our students for the world.
St. Mary and All Angels School is dedicated to the development of the whole child. In a three-way partnership of student, parent and teacher, we are committed to the pursuit of excellence and balance in all areas of a child’s life encompassing the academic, spiritual, physical, emotional and social aspects of growth.
Our spiritual focus is one of Christianity, expressed in thought, word and deed. We are a non-denominational body teaching the love of God through His Son, Jesus. We are dedicated to helping our students become committed people of faith who daily intertwine the vital components of Bible, prayer, character development, service and outreach to successfully integrate our Christian philosophy into their total life.
Our goal when considering emotional development is to surround the child with a positive environment. As a Christian “family” we can provide support to help and guide the child through the stages of development. We emphasize honesty, integrity, effort and self-discipline, and we expect our students to leave us with a true understanding of their own value and potential.
Our Focus – Relationship with Jesus and with Others
“Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself.”
This is achieved through chapel, classroom prayer, Bible reading and discussion.
